Brought to you by Renegade Motorsports - our S2000 coolant reservoir replaces your factory unit, improving both performance and aesthetics. Why? The S2000 OEM factory unit is, for the most part, sufficient for everything it was designed to do. There are two issues, however, which we wanted to improve upon. First, one point of failure is the reservoir cap. Owners have reported that over time, being manufactured from plastic and located in a hot engine bay, the cap will malfunction and not seal properly. Second, the OEM factory unit can be a bit of an eyesore. For those looking to enhance the look of their engine bay, this is a simple and effective upgrade. What makes this product different from other offerings? It starts by using quality materials and skilled fabricators. We begin with 6061 aluminum which is then laser cut to ensure precise fitment. Each reservoir uses a high-quality oversized cap with o-ring and bung. We were extremely specific in how we wanted the visual proportions to appear in the engine bay, down to ensuring how the position of the tube would route. In addition, the welds on our products are exceptionally crafted. This not only ensures the unit is appeasing to the eye, but that the welds will stand the test of time. Each reservoir receives a light hand polish prior to being carefully packaged to arrive at your door. What is that pin hole on top of the reservoir? These coolant reservoirs are often referred to as "overflow tanks," but it is probably more appropriate to call them "expansion tanks." In order for the reservoirs to function properly, they need to be vented to create vacuum. We laser cut the venting hole on top, which allows for the hot coolant to expand into the reservoir; it then cools, and returns to the radiator. This helps keep your cooling system free of air, allowing it to operate at maximum efficiency as intended by the OEM design. Do I have to modify anything on my car? Absolutely not. The Renegade coolant reservoirs were designed to be a direct plug and play unit for all year S2000s. In fact, these are 100% reversible. The install should take ~10 minutes and requires only pliers and a flat head screw driver. *NOTE: Due to the nature of crafting this product from aluminum, reservoirs may have weld etching and/or tooling marks.
