Ballade Sports has brought to the market a direct fit 6 Pod/Piston Brake Caliper that mates to the stock FK2/8/FL5/DE5 Brake Rotor.
The original Brembo 4 piston Caliper Honda provides can now be UPGRADED with a 6 piston design taken from GT6 and GTS caliper family keeping the Monoblock feature.
The size and dimensions of these new calipers are extremely similar, weighing in at 13lbs 4.5oz with brake pads and hardware.
Take note this New Brake Caliper uses a much larger brake pad versus the stock OEM Honda Brake pad. The shape and volume of the brake pads offer 37% increase in overall brake pad surface. This means MORE STOPPING POWER!!!
Replacement brake pads available from any aftermarket brake company. The Shape used are identical to the Brembo HB581 pad shape.
The piston sizes are 38mm, 34mm and 30mm within this new caliper. WHY have different size pistons within the brake caliper Versus Stock 4 Piston are same size pistons?
The use of a smaller diameter piston at the side where the disc enters the brake pads will ensure more uniformity in the pressure distribution on the brake pads.
When the thickness of the brake pad is large compared to its length, there will be higher wear on the leading end of the pad. The frictional force acting on the disc contact surface and the reaction at the abutment of the pad will result in a turning moment on the pad, leading to higher wear on the leading end. We have enclosed a drawing figure that explains the formation of uneven wear, and illustrates how a smaller diameter piston at the leading side makes the pressure distribution more uniform.
Also Included are Street Level / Entry Track Carbon Ceramic Brake Pads! No noise on the street, but excellent braking power and heat coefficient.
This is a true bolt on kit, which the stock Hard Line can be use as well for installation.
